Here are the details of the new Cambridge 'Citi' services, starting on November 12th. Additional timetables will be added here as they become available, so please watch this page for changes. Last edit: 3 Nov. 2001

Notes:

1) The 44 is being cut back to rush hour journeys only, though new services 16/17 provide a better frequency than before over the Balsham-Cambridge stretch. Seniors of Haverhill are also running some additional 44 journeys which connect with service 16 at Balsham.

2) The 8A will continue to run, although the first round trip will be withdrawn because it overlaps with the daytime Citi service.

3) The extension of Citi 5 beyond Addenbrookes to the Trumpington Park'n'Ride will begin when the latter opens (currently expected to be 26th November). There will also be a dedicated Park'n'Ride service from the site into Cambridge.

4) The section of the current 4 between Addenbrookes and Sawston/Shelford is being replaced from Novermber 12th with an enhanced service provided by other routes. We hope to have details here soon.

5) The Citi services run until at least 19:00, and may be extended in future to operate into the evening.

Citi 1 - Ten minute frequency. Fulbourn, Cherry Hinton, Addenbrookes, Rail Station, City Centre, Milton Road, Arbury. This is quite similar to the current 5 route.

Citi 2 - Ten minute frequency. Addenbrookes, Wulfstan Way, Birdwood Road, Mill Road, Grafton Centre, Emmanuel Street. Note that the Grafton Centre is only served on journeys into the city. This is quite similar to the current 8 route.

Citi 3 - Ten minute frequency. Fison Road, Whitehill Estate, Newmarket Road (Ditton Walk), Napier Street, City Centre, Rail Station. This is quite simlar to the current 3 route.

Citi 4 - Half-hourly frequency. Science Park, Milton Road, Chesterton, City Centre, Grafton Centre, Beehive Centre, Coldhams Lane, Cherry Hinton Church, Bridewell Road. This is a new route, combining aspects of the 2 and 6.

Citi 5 - Half-hourly frequency. Fen Estate, Chesterton, City Centre, Station Road corner, Cherry Hinton Road (The Rock), Addenbrookes, Rosie Maternity Hospital, Trumpington Park & Ride. The extension beyond Addenbrookes will begin when the Trumpington P&R opens. This route picks up the Fen Estate section of the current 8, but with a more direct route through the city. The new route provides coverage for part of the current 44.

Routes 12 and 159 - Half-hourly frequency. City Centre/Drummer street, Bridge Street, Girton, Oakington. This service provides coverage for the Oakington section of the current 2.

Routes 16 and 17 - Half-hourly on alternate routes. Buchan Street, Histon Road, City Centre, Grafton Centre, Mill Road, Coleridge Road (16) or Perne Road (17), Cherry Hinton - Robin Hood, Cherry Hinton - Tesco, Fulbourn, Balsham (16) or Little Wilbraham (17). Although this route covers the current 44 from Fulbourn towards Balsham or Little Wilbraham, it also owes a lot to the current 6, including the Buchan Street section.

Routes 32/33 and 34/35 - new Sawston corridor services going on to Whittlesford or Saffron Walden.

Route 44: Cambridge-Haverhill. This is cut back to rush-hour journeys only by Stagecoach, but Seniors of Haverhill have been contracted by the County Council to run some daytime services to connect with the 16 at Balsham.
